Case #1: Chronic Neck Pain

Client in her late 40’s suffered for over 7 years after a traumatic car accident that caused severe neck pain and a subsequent limitation in her abilities. Client had seen acupuncturists, chiropractors, and doctors without consistent or predictable results. Through specific movement-based interventions, she now can lift weights and exercise without symptoms and doesn't live with chronic pain anymore.

Case #2: Debilitating Sciatica Flares

Client in her late 50's suffered from debilitating sciatica flares that would leave her crippled in pain and unable to move when they would hit her. Client went from 10/10 intensity to almost virtually never getting flares anymore, while getting significantly stronger and more mobile. Client dropped over 25 pounds, did movements she never thought her body could do, and learned exactly what to do to stop a flare from coming back.

Case #3: Chronic Knee Pain

Client in her early 60’s had severe bilateral knee pain that limited her ability to stand from a chair, run errands safely, and navigate stairs. Was teetering on the decision to get knee surgery to resolve pain and immobility. Through coaching, client bypassed surgery and was able to squat, walk, exercise, and run errands safely without symptoms while incrementally building impressive endurance, stamina, strength and balance.

Case #4: Medically Complex Post-Operative Limitations

Client in his mid-40’s had a history of traumatic and life-threatening medical complications that left him with residual physical impacts including partial paralysis, muscle removal, and joint restrictions. Through coaching, client was able to gain a significant amount of stability, mobility and strength that allowed him to perform a variety of movements he previously wasn't able to complete due to his limitations. Client safely advanced into weight lifting including squats, push-ups and deadlifts.

Case #5: Veteran with PTSD and Chronic Back Pain

Client in his late 30's with history of physical injury and trauma from many years in the military under stressful conditions with limited time to repair and recover. Client attempted physical therapy treatment for a total of 7 different rounds with no significant change. Through coaching, client was able to reduce his chronic pain to get back into performing sets of pull-ups, deadlifts, presses, and other weight lifting activities he enjoyed without provoking symptoms or pain anymore.

Case #6: Chronic Shoulder Pain

Client in his late 30’s suffered with shoulder pain due to a long history of intense athletic demands. Was verging on getting an invasive surgery in order to hopefully relieve pain after investing a significant amount of time and money with who he stated were "the best therapists in Denver." With skilled coaching, shoulder pain resolved completely with an increase in mobility, stability, and strength. Client went on to be able to press and push heavy loads without symptoms or flares.

Case #7: Chronic and Debilitating Low Back Pain

Client in his early 40’s lived with chronic low back pain that would cause him to become bed-ridden during a bad flare. The client saw a chiropractor with inconsistent results, and still felt limited and vulnerable with movement. Through working together, this client stopped experiencing debilitating flares even with the same activities that used to cause pain. This client continued with his recovery through safely performing deadlifts, lunges, overhead presses, and a variety of other advanced movements to build his strength and resilience.

Case #8: Degenerative Joint Disease and Chronic Knee Pain

Client in her mid 20's presented with a diagnosis of degenerative joint disease and chronic knee pain that limited her ability to exercise and lose weight. With proper training and specific movements, this client progressed to performing heavy deadlifts, kettlebell swings, chin-ups, lunges, push-ups, and other technical and advanced movements with no pain or fear of flaring. Client reported feeling a new sense of freedom in her body, and continued on with new physical hobbies without fearing a flare.

Case #9: Autoimmune Disease and Nervous System Dysregulation

Client in her late 30's presented with an autoimmune disease and a dysregulated nervous system that led her to dissociate from her body or feel overwhelmed and anxious with movement. Through tracking the nervous system and moving at the pace of her body, this client was able to advance in her training, build strength, and stay consistent with her exercise for years.

Case #10: Chronic Stress and Debilitating Joint Pain

Client in his mid-50's came with intense chronic stress and joint pain that limited his ability to perform his job and hobbies without pain. Through interventions together, this client was able to restore function in his hands, drop over 20 pounds, and perform daily activities without pain or restriction that he hadn't been able to do in nearly 10 years.

Case #11: Post-Operative Chronic Knee Pain and Limitations

Client in her early 50's presented with stubborn knee pain and limitations after a physically and emotionally traumatizing accident years prior. Even after time spent with other physical therapists, she still was flaring and felt unsafe to return to her favorite activities. After our work together, she was able to perform a multitude of advanced loaded movements without triggering inflammation, in addition to feeling safe, confident and stable enough to live life without fear of a relapse.

"As someone with an eighteen year childhood abuse history, supporting my body through thirteen years of chronic illness and progressing mobility limitations requires a distinctly trauma-informed approach. Despite my proximity to privilege, I have been exposed to medical traumas that have dismissed my lived experiences and left stranded without a proper support system. Needless to say, I have been taught time and time again that I needed to intimately discern who I work with, and who I trust with my story, in order to honor all parts of my experience. The key factor being to partner with practitioners who respect my own autonomous authority in seeking accessible-to-me wellness without the use of shame. Jess' approach to body work is unlike any other therapeutic practitioner I have worked with. Looking beyond the surface of your symptoms and pain, Jess seeks to honor every part of your experience in order invite compassionate-curiosity rather than guilted-force into the process of her work. Day-by-day, session-by-session, we explored how to slowly invite my exhausted body to discover its connection to support even when faced with unsupportive environments and flares. Needless to say, partnering with Jess has undeniably reshaped how I approach my healing, and I will carry that with me for the rest of my life. I cannot recommend her work enough.”

Making a strong comeback from burnout and injuries:

“As a former LMT with a PTA degree, I thought I at least had the basics down, and the rest I learned from countless articles and YouTube videos. Fast forward, the weight came off, cholesterol is beautiful so I went beast mode. Then I hit a wall.....HARD! Injuries popping up left and right. My progress stalled. I was gassed and beat up. So I decided to make the investment and started working with Jess. It has been life changing! I know that sounds a bit dramatic, but it's true. Light bulbs went off all over the place. No video, article, or gym buddy of mine has ever explained how to properly move, engage my muscles, or channel my energy properly the way she has. I highly recommend her programs! If you are like me and hit a wall, no matter how long you've been in the gym, call Jess! If you are just starting out, definitely call Jess! I wish I would have had this knowledge years ago. I would have saved myself so much pain and frustration. Thank you Jess! I sincerely appreciate you and I'm so thankful for you!"

Major mindset shifts in diet and movement:

“I had always been interested in kettlebells but never knew how to do it without hurting myself. Jess has been an awesome inspiration and encourages me to take it to the next level. Things I thought I would not be able to do I am now pumping out with no issue. She helped me think about movement and eating in a whole different way. I have lost over 25 lbs since beginning with Jess. I have more energy and stamina throughout my day. Plus I am finding more ways to stay active thanks to Jess's simple but effective approach. She has really helped push my workouts and my fitness to the next level!"

- Buffy W., Professional Organizer

Getting better results with less work:

"I got better aesthetic results from working with you than I did in the four years listening to the all bodybuilder advice and always feeling gassed. I'm now maximizing my rests instead of maximizing my intensity. It's been huge for me! My weight hasn't changed, but the difference between muscle mass and fat has changed drastically since I started training the way you taught me to train. I'm thrilled! I'm in and out in 40 minutes with intentional, specific movement and I go about my day. My shoulders don't hurt, my back doesn't hurt. I’m not always burned out and feeling banged up anymore.”

- Elizabeth T., Certified Personal Trainer

Informative movement education for better posture and greater self-awareness:

“I learned so many things working with Jess! There are so many things I've never been shown before; posture, activating parts of my body I don't think of, like toes, feet, ankles, and form when doing exercises. I am so aware now of my posture in my personal life and professionally with my massage clients. My core is stronger, my mind is clearer on what I need to do, and I feel way more smarter in my self-care. I would not just suggest it, I would say this is required for everyone. It is a shame this isn't taught in school when we are young to avoid so much unnecessary damage."

- Tammy W., Hypnotherapist

Recovering from debilitating gut issues and inactivity:

"When I started, I was worried there wouldn't be a big difference to my fitness due to my stomach always being upset. With my stomach always being upset, I didn't want to workout and had zero energy to do so. With the guidance of Jess, I was able to start healing my stomach issues and had more energy and drive to exercise. Before I started with her, I was on daily heartburn meds. I wasn't able to eat anything without having severe heartburn for hours. Now, I'm able to drink coffee and eat foods without problems that would have set it off previously. I am happy to say I haven’t needed heartburn meds for a full month so far. I feel stronger and happier than I have in years. I don't feel like my body is out of my control, and I feel comfortable in outfits that I wouldn't have worn before."

- Jess D., Stay-at-Home Mom

Making nutrition and movement sustainable and easy:

"I have to say that I was surprised with how much I enjoyed working with Jess. I didn't really understand how virtual personal training worked and honestly was a little skeptical at first, but I was blown away with how effective it is! When creating my training and nutrition plan, she took into account my body's limitations & allowed me to guide my own transformation. She taught me how to stop and listen to myself to make wellness work for me. I'm someone who has tried many times to exercise more and eat better, but it was always a battle. Sticking to Jess' plan was surprisingly easy for me and effective, too! I lost weight in the first week and felt so much better inside and out. I can't recommend Jess enough!"

Recovering from debilitating hip and back pain:

"I had major pain in my back, hips and tailbone from previous injuries that were taking a toll on both my physical and mental well-being. It was so debilitating that I would be crying every night because I couldn’t move, which in turn affected my emotional state of mind. I had to take prescribed pain relievers just so I could relax enough to sleep at night, yet it never fully took the pain away. Although going to the chiropractor had helped, I definitely needed extra training on posture, lifting weights, motivation, food intake, relaxation, and how to deal with stress (which I tend to hold a lot of my stress in my back). All of which has helped me tremendously. I now live with no pain, no pain killers are needed, better posture and am moving so much better in everyday life. I'm a member of our local CrossFit gym, and the work we've done together has helped me gain more confidence and made sure I am actually moving correctly through any workout we do. She has helped me change my life for the better, and has been amazing to work with!"

- Jess L.

Restoring self-esteem and self-awareness with fitness:

“Working with Jess has been life-changing for me. Prior to starting, my diet was terrible, I hardly exercised, and my self-esteem was incredibly low. Jess encouraged me to make a major change in my diet, and her training program got me in better shape than I’ve been in years. I’ve lost almost 10 pounds, but the program has been about so much more than that. She’s helped me work on my mindset to understand why fitness programs haven’t worked for me in the past. She really cares about all aspects of her client’s health and fitness, and her belief in me has given me so much confidence. I cannot recommend her coaching enough.

- Rebecca T.

Coming back to movement and self after baby:

“I started with her 3 months after I had my son. I’ve always been very active and like to stay fit, but the last few months of my pregnancy were difficult. When I decided to get back in shape, I felt like I was starting from scratch, with no clue how to rebuild my strength. Within just a couple weeks of working together, I saw very clear results, and could lift and carry my son much more easily. I now am back to running and keeping up with all the outdoor activities I’ve always enjoyed.”

- Megan T.

Building strength and capacity as a beginner:

"Jess is a great coach. She’s kind, warm, knowledgeable, sensitive and meets you where you’re at. I started working with her during the pandemic and she was a godsend. She's helped me develop strength and feel more empowered in my body and movement-- despite being newer to strength training and never having been an athlete. I’ve always felt safe and accepted when working with her. I’ve also appreciated how she’s tracked my progress and built programs for me based on my growth edges. I highly recommend working with her. Thank you, Jess!"

- Jen J.

"Jess is very passionate and always curious, someone I consider to have a vast array of knowledge about the topic at hand. She has made it her life's work to learn from the very best in their proven discipline. She is the real deal and will do nothing but elevate the field."

Dr. Sean Stripling, DC, Owner of Authentic Movement Lab

"I’ve known Jess for several years now and her knowledge, expertise, and coaching skills have only gotten better. She’s someone I would trust to send my therapy patients to because it’s clear she cares about the quality of her work and consistently delivers results to her clients. A solid person to have on your team!"
